About Zensi

We fell in love with Belize over 2 decades ago and immediately knew that one day it would become our home.

Many years of hospitality experience, and a passion for adventure, food, art and music,  has driven us to create Zensi.  When this beautiful 11 acre property with over 1000 feet of Sittee Riverfront was found,  we knew  that there was a need to share the experience with like minded people. As artists, we are beginning to transform this stunning piece of land into an artistic adventure for all senses. 

This eco friendly retreat and resort is being built with only the highest respect for Mother Earth and the local community. We are keeping all of her natural elements as untouched as possible and will be supporting existing local businesses as well as creating additional jobs. Zensi’s location provides the perfect balance of tranquility, nature and all that Belize has to offer.

Zensi’s main building will be a homage to The Studio, our restaurant & art gallery of 20 years in Hilton Head, SC., having a full restaurant and bar area upstairs.  The lower level will feature an art gallery, gift shop & game room, opening up to our beautiful Waterfall Moon Pool and thatched yoga palapa, a perfect place for relaxing while listening to ambient tribal music and the soothing melodies of tropical birds.

Our goal is to be a part of the local community.  The Sittee River Village & neighboring Hopkins Village have a rich culture that should be preserved and explored by visitors.  Consistently ranked as the friendliest area of Belize, we anticipate a close relationship with local restaurants and businesses as well as Garifuna cultural leaders.
